Nepalese Rupees Nepal Currency Information can be found here. The Nepalese rupee is the official currency of Nepal. It is called “rupaiya” (रूपैयाँ) in Nepal. Nepalese rupees was first introduced in 1932 A.D. Before that Mohar currency was used in Nepal. Rupee replaced mohar at 2:1 ratio. Nepalese one rupee consists of 100 paisa. The issuance of the currency is directly controlled by Nepal Rastra Bank. In 1932 A.D after it was introduced the value was 2 Mohar = 1 rupee. The name of Nepalese initially was Mohru.
Here are the currently in existing paper notes. Besides the paper notes the coins are also used in Nepal for less value currency.
