Lost continent discovered in Mauritius in Indian Ocean information is available here. Scientists have found the lost continent in Mauritius under the islands in Indian Ocean. The island lies on the top of the Gondwana which is a undiscovered section. The continent is the 200 million year old which is commonly known as the super continent. Gondwana was divided in to Africa, South America, Antarctica, India and Australia some 180 million years ago.
The island was discovered by the geologists who are involved in the University of Witwatersrand from South Africa.
The scientists have also found the different mineral in the rocks of the island. The minerals are supposed to be of some billion years old.
They also claimed that there are rocks that are over four billion years old which are actually to find in deep oceans as well. The island is completely different from the oceans.
Mauritius is the land which is typically a island where the rocks and minerals older than 9 million years old are present. The researchers have also found the zircons that are 3 billion years old.
This research have also proved that there are much older materials under Mauritius. Which can be helpful to the study of the world in detail ways.
