Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme Embassy Of India Nepal

The Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme is provided for the students who are just enrolled in the Bachelors 1st year or first semester of any Bachelors program. The candidates must be studying in th undergraduate courses in any recognized educational institute of Nepal. A total of 200 scholarships are given yearly for the Nepalese students studying in Nepali institutions.

The scholarships are divided in numbers as follows:

  1. i) For Medical Stream: 50 (5 years course)
  2. ii) For Engineering Stream: 50 (4 years course)

iii)  Other various Stream:          100 (Scholarship will be restricted to 3 yrs only

The eligibility of the Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme are discussed as below:

  1. The student should be Nepali citizen.
  2. The student should have at least 70% marks in aggregate in Grade XI and Grade XII.
  3. The family income of the student who are applying for the scholarship should be less than Nrs. 1,200,000 per year.
  4. The age of the student should be between 17 and 22 years.
  5. The amount of Scholarship to be provided:

The selected students in medical and engineering streams will be paid Nrs. 4,000 per months and the students of other streams will get Nrs. 3,000 per months each.

The scholarship will continue in next years under the condition that the student should get or obtain marks above 50% in each years or semester.

Selection Process:

The selection process of Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme is the candidates are short listed from their academic record and performance. Then after the short-listed candidates are called for the interview from phone. The selected candidates are notified from phone and students are request not to call the Embassy of India for this issue.
For Silver Jubilee Scholarship Scheme the notice will be opened in the November and December every year. The notice is published in the local news paper and if you have internet access you can visit official website of Embassy Of India Nepal.
