Can you imagine that organization of the district level cricket tournament in irrigated field in dream also? The craze of cricket is huge in Nepal. Although cricket is not played all over the world.
The craze in some countries of Europe, Australia and Asia is huge. There are top 10 teams which play cricket regularly. The sad part about cricket is no new team can play high level cricket easily. Any new teams should struggle hard in order to play with top test playing nations. There are a lot of promising new nations which are doing best in cricket at their level.
Nepal is such a emerging team which is doing very good in cricket. The craze of cricket has increased a lot in Nepal now.
You might be amazed that there is a district level tournament being organized in the plouged land for irrigation. This is due to lack of cricket ground. But craze is increasing so huge that people manage to play games in any hard situation. You can see the picture of players playing cricket in the paddy field. Players has installed the stumps and are playing a district level cricket tournament in the same field.
The place is located in Acham district of Nepal. The fourth edition of district level cricket tournament has started from Baisakh 31 in the district.
The field consists of houses, trees, banana trees and other obstacles but everything is going fine and everybody is enjoying the cricket. The ball gets lost during play, there is no smooth flowing of ball, unexpected bouncers and change in direction is the normal phenomenon there. Every balls are unpredictable and that is the best part of the game in that field.
While taking runs players even fall down due to irregular field. Total 16 teams has participated in the tournament. The teams consists of the players which played in national level and local level tournaments previously.
The best part is the tournament is loved by huge crowd. People are seen enjoying the games whole day.
The tournament is played 10 overs each. They winner of the tournament will get Nrs 35,000. The organizers are confident that they will contribute in the development of country from these activities.
